Jun. 17--Parts for the proposed 7E7 jetliner would be shipped by sea, a company executive said.
A Boeing Co. official said Monday that the aircraft maker wants the manufacturing site for its proposed new jetliner to be located near a deep-water port so suppliers can deliver parts by sea, Bloomberg News reported.
The comment raised questions about Tulsa's chances of winning the contest for the 7E7 project, which could employ 1,200 people and create thousands of additional jobs at aerospace suppliers near the assembly plant.
