Visitors enter Space Odyssey - the new permanent exhibition opening today at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science - through a long, white-shelled corridor peppered with space photographs and covered in flashing, multicolored lights.
While the space-age corridor could serve as a set piece from Battlestar Galactica (or perhaps the laser-lighted terminal at Chicago's O'Hare airport), it also represents an important gateway for the museum - marking the institution's shift from a place that preserves the past to one that explores the future.
