Concerned about the mess at Freddie Mac? Call the State Capitol and ask for Sen. Cathy Stepp.
The Racine Republican, whose own messy election victory last fall helped the GOP gain a majority in the state Senate, is also a Bush appointee to the board that oversees the government-backed home mortgage company.
McLean, Va.-based Freddie Mac is the latest publicly-traded U.S. corporation accused of "accounting irregularities." Last week, the company sacked its CEO and its president, although both will land with multi-million dollar golden parachutes.
