This issue of the Canadian Home Economics Journal takes its theme, Technology@home, from the CHEA Conference held in Ottawa in August 2002. Our featured article by Sheryl Hamilton of McGill University, The Home of the Future, Then and Now, was adapted from a keynote address made by the author at the conference. Using information collected from the media, it highlights and reflects on many of the technological changes that have occurred in homes over the past fifty years. The research paper submission, Technology and Dishwashers: Are Users Still Wasting Water?, provides interesting insight into how dishwasher usage has affected our consumption of water.
