Rankin County grows factories
Rankin County's effort in the economic development arena can be summarized in one brief set of statistics from Dan Russell Jr., executive vice president of the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce.
"From 1980 to 1989," says Russell, "the number of (industries) in Rankin County increased by 35 companies, where Hinds was a minus two and Madison was a plus five. Warren County during this period was a plus eight and one-half."
