Several top-selling herbal products -- ginkgo biloba, ginseng, echinacea and St. John's wort -- may interact with common migraine medications, possibly making them toxic, suggests research presented today at the 45th Annual Meeting of the American Headache Society. Further, ginkgo biloba, ginseng and St. John's wort, as well as valerian root, may actually cause or worsen migraine or cluster headaches in people who are prone to them, the research suggests.
