A $2 million allocation to establish and fund a National Spina Bifida Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) was included in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2003 Appropriation Bill recently passed by Congress. As a result of efforts by the Spina Bifida Association of America (SBAA) and the Spina Bifida Foundation (SBF), the 70,000 Americans who live with spina bifida have secured a major victory!
