The Air Force issued a contract default notice to Lockheed Martin [LMT] in March regarding its Sniper Extended Range (XR) pod, citing a need to have elevated oversight by the contractor's leadership.
The letter, known as a cure notice, is notification to a contractor that it is in default on a given project and provides a plan to correct the deficiency.
"The [Air Force] did issue Lockheed Martin Missile & Fire Controls, Orlando (LMO) a cure notice on 21 March '03," Lt. Col. Rodney Carroll, development system manager for the service's Precision Attack System Program Office, told Defense Daily yesterday. "The primary intent of ...
