Jun. 19--One little four-letter word has put home builders and homeowners on their guard and is sparking lawsuits aplenty across the nation.
A pesky little fungus called mold has become the problem du jour for the home-building industry and prompted a mold seminar Wednesday sponsored by the Horry Georgetown Home Builders Association and Santee Cooper.
"The problem does exist in Horry County," said Tom McHood, a certified fire, water and mold damage specialist with A & I Inc.
