Jun. 20--Northwest Airlines' flight attendants have tossed out the Teamsters and embraced the upstart Professional Flight Attendants Association as their union.
The new union received 4,857 votes to the Teamsters' 3,916 in a telephone vote of union members conducted over the past few weeks.
The results sparked a celebration among the dozen or so PFAA leaders who gathered at their Bloomington head...uarters Thursday. "We won!" they exclaimed as interim vice president Jose Arturo Ibarra, announced the results.
