SEATTLE - Mired in a stretch of mind-numbing offensive ineptitude, the Angels were presented with the rarest of opportunities in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday night.
The bases were loaded, they were trailing by one run and, for the first time all evening, Seattle Mariners starter Freddy Garcia was looking vaguely mortal.
So the Angels sent up the player most likely to ground into a double play. And Bengie Molina did just that.
Molina tapped weakly to the mound, starting a pitcher-to-home-to-first double play, and the Angels found yet another demoralizing way to lose, this time 2-0 to Seattle ...
