Jun. 22--Randall Davis, the man who popularized loft-style apartments in Houston, is gearing up for his new downtown hotel redevelopment.
Davis is leading a development group that is transforming an old bank building into the Hotel Icon.
The hotel is a redevelopment of the 12-story Union National Bank building, built in 1911.
Hotel Icon will be an upscale hostelry with 135 rooms renting for about $200 per night, Davis said.
"Icon means critically acclaimed, venerated or admired. That is the definition of Icon, and that is our ambition," Davis said.
