The small-sized hydroelectric power plants market, known as PCHs (Pequenas Centrais Hidreletricas), is growing in Mato Grosso state. Such plants already accounts for 36,2% of the electric power needed to meet a demand of 360,000 MWh/month on average. Out of this total, 11,46% comes from 12 small plants of Rede Cemat, while the 24,74% remainder is generated in private PCHs and other power sources. Furnas Centrais Eletricas SA accounts for 56,53% of the total power consumed and Termica Cuiaba, for 7,27%.
