Nashville, Tenn. -- Wild General Manager Doug Risebrough met with the agent for restricted free agent Marian Gaborik on Friday morning, but the two sides offered conflicting reports about what was discussed.
Risebrough said the team made an initial contract proposal to its All-Star winger, while agent Allan Walsh said it was nothing more than a preliminary discussion to set a timetable for negotiations.
Whatever the case, it was the first step in what is the No. 1 offseason priority for the team.
