Volunteers build a discovery playground in San Luis Obispo In Greek mythology, the Muses are the nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. Considered guiding spirits, each presides over a different art or science> from them, we get our word museum. At the new San Luis Obispo Children's Museum, muses came in the form of Cal Poly students, chamber of commerce members, volunteers, and--most important--children.
