AIR FORCE ACKNOWLEDGES B-1B FULLY MISSION CAPABLE RATE AT ZERO
The Air Force's premier strategic bomber, the Rockwell Corp.-built B-1B, has a fully mission capable (FMC) rate of zero, according to an Air Force document the House Government Operations National Security and Legislation Subcommittee released on Sunday.
According to the document, FMC requires that the all aircraft systems be operable. But the service notes that the aircraft's Tail Warning Function and undeveloped ALQ-161 electronic countermeasures (ECM) system are inoperable.
