Glaser assets bought by Medicine Shoppe
ST. LOUIS--The assets and/or prescription files of seven local Medicare-Glaser Corp. stores acquired by Walgreen Co. in a bankruptcy court auction have been bought by Medicine Shoppe International.
St. Louis-based Medicine Shoppe will keep most of the seven open, according to vice president of strategic planning Jeff Atkinson. "Our intention is to own and operate and refranchise," says Atkinson, adding that any of the stores that are closed will have their prescription files transferred to nearby franchises.
