Tapie adds 15% of Adidas
PARIS (FNS) - Bernard Tapie Finance SA last week revealed it has acquired an additional 15 percent of Adidas Worldwide, Herzogenaurach, Germany, from a holding company controlled by Metro International AG.
The purchase gives Bernard Tapie control of 95 percent of the company; the remaining 5 percent remains in the hands of the late Horst Dassler's two children, Adi Dassler and Suzanne Dassler-Werle.
Metro, a Swiss-German distributor, vied unsuccessfully with Tapie last year to acquire the majority stake in Adidas.
No purchase price was disclosed, but Tapie previously said he was willing to offer 400 million francs ...
