Northeast Ohio is a long shot in the multistate competition that Boeing Co. is conducting as it considers where to locate an aircraft assembly plant that the company may build. But, win or lose, it's heartening to see the six organizations that are part of the economic development alliance known as Team NEO get behind a single proposal rather than find two or three of them each pursuing this prize catch on their own.
Chicago-based Boeing still hasn't decided whether it actually will build the new fuel-efficient aircraft, the 7E7, that would necessitate construction of the plant. That detail matters not to the cities and states that are eager to be the plant's ...
