THE Archbishop of Canterbury yesterday opened the door for a rethink on the appointment of a gay Church of England bishop.
Dr Rowan Williams said objections to making Canon Jeffrey John the Bishop of Reading 'must be addressed and considered fully.' The Archbishop stressed that the decision was one for the Bishop of Oxford, Dr Richard Harries, and his diocese, and said he had no personal objectionsto the appointment.
