NEW YORK -- Dion Furs, a Chicago fur retailer, will close its Michigan Avenue store March 31.
Robert Belle, vice president of Dion, said that expenses were too high at the 535 N. Michigan Ave. location to run the business profitably.
Dion has three additional stores in the Chicago area, in Oaklawn, Niles and Lombard, Ill. They've been at the 7,000-square-foot Michigan Avenue store for three years. "Fur is a seasonal business and in the right locations it can do very well," Belle said. "Our other three locations maximize our growth and profitability potential."
