Grendene S.A. of Farroupilha, Brazil, in conjunction with its U.S. subsidiary Grendha Shoes Corporation of Orlando, Florida announces the settlement of its litigation in Miami federal court against Luichiny, Inc. over alleged infringement of Grendene's design patent and trade dress rights in its Love System shoe sold under the Melissa brand.
In the settlement, Luichiny agreed to entry of a judgment by the court that Grendene's U.S. design patent and trade dress rights in the design of the Love System shoe are valid and protectible, and that Luichiny's shoes infringed upon both the design …
