THE Mick Easterby team's hopes of landing a pounds 20,000 bonus at Carlisle were thwarted when the Sheriff Hutton trainer's Sporting Gesture finished second in the Tote Credit Club Cumberland Plate.
The bonus for stable staff was on offer for any yard which won Wednesday's Carlisle Bell and then the Plate.
Easterby's Top Dirham landed the first leg to set up the double, but Len Lungo's Silvertown foiled the plan under a superb front-running ride from Paul Hanagan.
