A major UK law enforcement operation in the Caribbean Sea involving HM Customs & Excise and the Royal Navy has resulted in the seizure of 3.3 tonnes of cocaine from a Panamanian registered merchant ship.

Acting on intelligence from HM Customs and Excise, with the assistance of the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the Royal Navy frigate HMS Iron Duke intercepted the massive GBP250 million drugs haul, which is thought to have been destined for Europe.
