Four men have been convicted of fraud in New York, US, over a $US110m scheme that caught several Australian investors. The fraud, perpetrated by Evergreen International Spot Trading and First Equity Enterprises, was discovered after the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001. Investigators checking on the well-being of the companies following the attack discovered their fraudulent practices.
