Joe Smith, once seen as a potential superstar in the NBA, was traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.
The Bucks are the fifth different team Smith has played for since being the top pick in the 1995 NBA draft after his sophomore year at Maryland.
The Maury High graduate was dealt to the Bucks along with guard Anthony Peeler for guard Sam Cassell and center Ervin Johnson.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Smith missed 28 games because of three separate injuries last season for the Wolves. He averaged a career-low 7.5 points and five rebounds a game.
