According to the Brazilian association of infrastructure and key industry Abdib (Associacao Brasileira da Infrastra-estrutura e Industrias de Base), the public and private sectors planed to invest US$15mil in infrastructure in 2003, but the resources might not exceed US$10bil. Abdib says that the demand for investments in infrastructure, mainly in the power, petroleum and gas sectors, is of US$20bil per year. In 2002, the estimate was to invest US$22bil in infrastructure and in the key industry, but this figure was of US$14.3bil. In 2001, the prediction was of US$25mil, but US$20bil was invested.
