VERONA -- He asked to be traded, saw his piece of the occupational pie get smaller and infuriated his coach.
Aside from that, Ron Dayne has had a quiet, blissful offseason.
It's fair to say Dayne has had a mostly unfulfilling existence since leaving the University of Wisconsin football program three years ago, the Heisman Trophy under one arm and the school record book for running backs under the other.
Since being chosen in the first round by the New York Giants in 2000, Dayne has seen his resume regress to the point that one prominent NFL magazine writer called Dayne a bust this spring.
