Inprocomm, Inc. (INPROCOMM), a supplier of innovative Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) integrated circuits (ICs), announced today that it has passed Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) Certification. WPA combines IEEE 802.1X and TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) to enhance WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy), the security scheme used in the current Wi-Fi products. WPA is firmware and driver upgradeable and will work in legacy products on the market today as well as in future Wi-Fi Certified products.
