Jerry Chapman had just spent the better part of a morning reeling in his catch for the day.

Posing with the 120-pound striped marlin he'd hooked, Chapman had come to the tip of Baja California not just for the fishing, but also as part of an incentive program offered by his company, A.G. Edwards & Sons.

"The award incentive is product-based," said Chapman, a vice president of investments in the northern California town of Paradise as he stood on the pier of Cabo San Lucas' famed marina. "We get to come down here for five days for meetings and leisure. We had a half-day of meetings, then have three days to do what we want to do.
