Jul. 3--SBC Wisconsin's wish to sell long-distance service moved closer to coming true Wednesday.
State regulators completed four years of review and voted unanimously to recommend that the Federal Communications Commission give the Wisconsin division of SBC Communications Inc. the go-ahead for long-distance service.
The commission's action is not the final step, but it marks a milestone in a process that has been lengthy, complex and contentious.
