PAPHOS, in the south-west, is the most popular resort in Cyprus, pulling in around 500,000 Brits a year.
Bookings suffered badly as a result of the Iraq conflict, but since mid-April, they have gradually returned to normal.
The war forced specialist operators such as Libra Holidays to cut the number of breaks for sale. Now, says managing director Eli Idrissi, anyone who wants to go will have to take what's available.
"Paphos is tight but there is availability in Larnaca," he says. "Prices are not as cheap as last year because there is less on sale."
