Online claims are the solution to long queues at the limited number of Medicare shopfronts in Australia. On 1 July 2003, CBHS Friendly Society announced it was joining Medibank Private, HCF, MBF, BUPA Australia Health and Australia Unity on IBA Health's eHealth Network. Patients will now be able to avoid payments for covered health care services beyond the surcharge. The eHealth Network allows a practice to gain immediate access to the applicable refund.
