THE INTERNET HAS BEEN HAILED as a revolutionary research tool that allows academicians, researchers, and students to access large volumes of information with an ease that was previously unimaginable (Giffords, 1998; Holden, Rosenberg, & Weissman, 1996). Increasing amounts of data and information are being placed into an electronic format and are often only available through the World Wide Web.
