Michael Cuddyer, sporting a .404 batting average with the Rochester Red Wings, appeared on the cusp of returning to the Minnesota Twins a month ago.
Instead, Cuddyer strained his left hamstring, went on the disabled list for two weeks and has been limited to just 13 at-bats since then. An 0-for-4 performance Wednesday dropped his average to .343.
"It's the most frustrating month of my career so far," said Cuddyer, the Twins' first-round draft pick out of Chesapeake's Great Bridge High School in 1997. "I'm not used to being injured and not having any control over whether I can go out there."
