Article: The MBA Nominates Its First Elected Female Officer.

The Mortgage Bankers Association has nominated Regina Lowrie to be its first elected female officer, placing her in line to become the association's first chairwoman in October 2005.

The founder, president and chief executive of Gateway Funding Diversified Mortgage Services, Ms. Lowrie said she is honored to be nominated as MBA's vice chair-elect.

"I think this is real progress for women in our industry. There are so many successful, brilliant women in the mortgage industry," she said in an interview.
