PROJECT OVERVIEW:
An Indian joint venture, operating under the name of TALA-DELHI TRANSMISSION (TDTL), was recently established in view of building what is claimed to be India' first private sector power transmission line. The new line is intended to enable transporting power generated by the Tala hydroelectric project in Bhutan to Delhi. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include TATA POWER CO. (51%) and POWER GRID CORP. OF INDIA (PGCIL - 49%).
