Jul. 7--Kathy Mitchell of Oklahoma City is enjoying a vacation this Fourth of July. She has taken Thursday and Monday as vacation days, and, with Friday's federal holiday and the weekend, she'll be off work five consecutive days.
"It will feel like being off a full week," said Mitchell, a licensed practical nurse who teaches and coordinates medical assisting classes at Platt College. "Only when I return, I won't be bombarded with a stack of mail, e-mail and voice messages."
