The Newport Beach Breakers will return to the World Team Tennis scene Monday after a 10-year hiatus.
The Breakers play their first match on the road against Sacramento before returning to The Palisades Tennis Club in Newport Beach for their first home match, Tuesday against Sacramento at 7 p.m.
The World Team Tennis league flourished at its inception in the mid- 1970s but has struggled for most of its 23-year history, even with popular players such as Jimmy Connors, Martina Navratilova and Bjorn Borg on board.
