Task force says AIDS-only hospitals invite 'disaster'
Establishing hospitals limited to the treatment of people with HIV disease could have disastrous consequences for patients and staff, according to a report issued by the New York City Task Force on Single-disease Hospitals.
In response to a proposal calling for the creation of separate health care facilities for people with HIV disease, the task force considered whether "AIDS-only" facilities presented any advantages over treating infected patients in general hospitals.
