Article: Cruise Travel from U.S. Ports Climbs 11 Percent in First Quarter.

Jul. 8--Cruise travel from U.S. ports was up 11 percent in the first ...uarter of 2003 compared to last year, with Miami and Fort Lauderdale accounting for nearly 50 percent of the traffic.

The numbers, released Monday, are part of a new statistical analysis by the U.S. Maritime Administration covering 10 major lines with ships that hold at least 750 passengers.

Carnival Cruise Lines carried 32.7 percent and Royal Caribbean International 26.4 percent of the nearly 2 million passengers who traveled on a total of 934 cruises.
