Great Men Aren't Good Men
In early 1975, during my research for a booklet I wrote on the history of television entitled 100 Years of Research, 50 Years of Development, 25 Years of Mass Media, the Future of Television; I looked at reports that pitted a |sympathetic' David Sarnoff against a |wheeler-dealer' William Paley.
I even wrote about the CBS disclaimer in the early TV days: "CBS doesn't manufacture TV sets and this program is not intended as an incentive for you to buy one" -an obvious stab at RCA and NBC.
