I am a Gold Wing rider writing to you about Wednesday's front page article: "Wings of Desire." It certainly doesn't do any good to offend the people who come to your town for a convention. We were compared to the "young hog riders with their leather and tattoos" and us being "a bit on the older side" with "baggy denim and wrinkles of aging." As far as the average age of 58, averages do not necessarily tell the whole story. The youngest person in attendance was 6 months old and the eldest was 91.
Another objection is that you call the Honda Gold Wing motorcycle a "bulky, fat-tired, 900-pound" motorcycle. Obviously your reporter knows little about motorcycles and ...
