Jul. 6--British government plans to privatise the international nuclear reprocessor and services group British Nuclear Fuels have been abandoned. Last week, trade and industry minister Patricia Hewitt told parliament a flotation "would no longer be an option".
The Business has also learnt that Michael Parker, the former head of Dow Chemical who takes over as chief executive later this month, will get a basic salary of UKpound 450,000 (E648,000, $747,000), 25 percent higher than his predecessor Norman Askew, who unexpectedly announced his resignation earlier this year after ...
