Dan Golden: upholstery specialist/seamster with Golden Fleece Inc., Minneapolis.
Favorite tool: Juki sewing machine. An older model that only makes straight stitches but can penetrate softer leathers. He purchased it used for $450.
Golden began sewing in college, making alterations for a Minneapolis shop. After graduation he continued this work for 10 years but wanted to find other ways to use his skills. He began recovering furniture. A designer client held a party where his furniture was a hit, so the hostess distributed his business cards. His business took off from there.
