Novartis remained No. 1 overall in Verispan's spring 2003 Managed Care Pharmacy Executive Promotional Audit, on the strength of its account personnel, business ethics and partnership with managed care.
However, the distance between Novartis and second-place Merck slimmed considerably this audit cycle. Only nine net points separated the two companies, as opposed to a 36-net-point difference in fall 2002.
