BUREISKAYA POWER PLANT BACKBONE OF FAR EASTERN ECONOMY - PUTIN
TALAKAN (Amur region). July 9 (Interfax) - The Bureiskaya hydro-power plant must become the backbone of the Far Eastern economy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said after he pushed the button on the central switchboard putting the first power-generating unit into operation.
"New enterprises and jobs must be created around this hydro-power plant. The new power plant is a good sign that indicates the economy is rapidly developing," Putin said.
