As President Bush weighs what to do about Liberia, one thing is already clear: He wants the leader of that ruined West African nation to join history as the next cagey strongman America shoves from power.
Bush minced no words this week in advocating regime change in Liberia, where the U.S.-educated president, Charles Taylor, has presided over the collapse of one of the most prosperous African countries into one of the most destitute.
"One thing has to happen: Mr. Taylor has to leave the country," Bush said Wednesday, during a stop on his five-nation trip in Africa.
