Article: TOURISTS RETURN TO HO CHI MINH CITY IN JUNE.

HANOI, July 11 Asia Pulse - The number of international tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City has begun to rise, the local tourism authority has announced.

"The figure rose by 20 per cent from the previous months," director of Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Lap Quoc said.

In June, hotels in the city posted an average 30 per cent increase in room occupancy, with some posting an increase of up to 50 per cent.

Quoc predicted that a greater number of foreign visitors would arrive in Ho Chi Minh City as of September, the peak month of the tourist season, because of events pre-empting the upcoming SEA Games.
