ABUJA, Nigeria _ President Bush wrapped up a whirlwind tour of Africa on Saturday, calling it a place of "challenge and promise" and vowing to help the continent fight disease, poverty and war.
"As I fly over Africa and see the vast fertile landscape, I know that Africa can be feeding itself and the world," Bush told Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday. "This is a continent of vast potential. . . . My purpose here is to find out what we can do to help the continent become more self sufficient."
